Title: SQL DBA III
Location: Tigard, OR

 
Due to an increase in workload, our client is seeking to augment their Database Administration team with a Database Administrator III experienced in supporting high-availability, enterprise-wide Microsoft SQL Server 2005 installations. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and/or PostgreSQL 8.x databases is a plus. This is a production support position that may require after hours and/or on-call coverage.
 
Duties will include physical database design and implementation; planning and performing database upgrades and deployments; performance monitoring and tuning; designing, testing and performing backup and recovery procedures; automating database installation and maintenance procedures; advising developers on database access methods and syntax.
 
In addition to experience performing the duties described above, applicants experience must include:
  • Responsibility for the operational integrity and security of enterprise-wide production Microsoft SQL Server infrastructures;
  • Monitoring database infrastructures using SNMP and/or SYSLOG protocols and tools;
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows command shell, experience with PowerShell is a plus;
  • Preparing written technical architecture and design documents.
